Dr. Iyad Abu Doush Professor of Computer Science at American University of Kuwait Dr. Iyad Abu Doush is a professor of computer science at the American University of Kuwait. He is the founder and the director of the Office of Research and Grants. Dr. Abu Doush is a consultant in technology accessibility and an invited expert in Mada (Qatar Assistive Technology Center). Dr. Abu Doush is a certified ABET program evaluator (PEV) since March 2021. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Computer Science Department at New Mexico State University / USA in 2009. Dr. Abu Doush is the recipient of the Best Intellectual Award from the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences (CEAS) at the American University of Kuwait for the academic year 2022- 2023. He was awarded a merit-based enhancement fellowship from graduate school for outstanding service to New Mexico State University as a teaching and research assistant. Dr. Abu Doush served as coach and committee member in esteemed programming contests, including the ACM Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest (JCPC) and the Kuwaiti Collegiate Programming Contest (KCPC). Dr. Abu Doush's endeavors have been generously supported by prestigious agencies, including The Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences (KFAS), USAID, Microsoft, and others. His commitment to accessibility was exemplified by securing funds in 2016 from USAID to establish the first accessible computer laboratory for people with disabilities in northern Jordan at Yarmouk University. Dr. Abu Doush was selected to serve as a visiting researcher in the Universities of Malaysia, Lithuania, and the USA. A prolific researcher, Dr. Abu Doush's intellectual contributions have found expression in over 90 articles across international journals and conferences. His academic pursuits encompass a diverse array of interests, spanning Machine Learning, Optimization Algorithms, Human-Computer Interaction, and Digital Accessibility.

Before this, Dr. Al-Refaei spent 5 years at the Ministry of Health in Kuwait as a practicing physician and clinical quality assurance consultant.
